The Molinetto Carrea Winery is an oenologic jewel in Gavi area, with 7 hectares of vineyard planted with the Cortese grape. Situated in Francavilla Bisio and Tassarolo, where the Piedmontese hills meet the sea breeze, Molinetto Carrea bases its production in the prestigious Gavi DOCG. This fragrant white wine is soft, fruity, and elegant, and is made from 100% Cortese grapes.
The Molinetto Winery is today managed by the
youngest son, Diego Carrea:
Degree in Electronic Engineering and Executive MBA, Computer Expert first in Genoa, then in Milan.
Until October 2008, when Diego decides to choose the “road less traveled”, to listen to his own “deep roots”: come back home to continue the family wine business started by his father Matteo and by his uncle Domenico since 1990.
His choice to work in the winery speaks of his love for the land that daily strengthens the ties to the winery's founders and renews the agricultural traditions of lower Piedmont.
The Molinetto Company is part of the prestigious Consortium of Gavi (www.consorziogavi.com), which certifies the quality, reliability and transparency in the production process and is member of Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (www.fivi.it)
The product range consists of two labels: Gavi DOCG, an elegant and straight-forward wine that is aged in stainless steel; Re·Lys Gavi DOCG, produced with 100% Cortese grapes cultivated from historical vineyards.
I chose the road less traveled. I listened to my deep roots that told me to sustain the hard work of cultivating and caring for vineyards. The result? A Gavi DOCG that is essential, elegant and simple.
re·lys: Clear in its intentions, faithful to its origins. Its name recalls a rebirth of a family tradition that has never been interrupted and is now nourished with a new energy; the lily is symbol of virtue, incorruptibility.
